Description
OSHA requires all forklift operators to be trained and certified by a qualified individual who can assess their competence operating a forklift.
This 1-day certification course is designed to provide individuals with the skills and knowledge to teach an effective forklift operator course and evaluate competence. Participants will learn the instructional techniques involved to best deliver concepts in a classroom and/or field environment.
In addition, student trainers will learn:
- OSHA’s training requirements found in 1910.178(l)
- Forklift Hazards
- Calculating Loads
- Inspection Criteria
- Stability Triangle
- Effective Teaching Methods for the classroom
- Practical Evaluation tips
- Development of a forklift training program
- Recordkeeping requirements
Class includes full training curriculum and a flash drive for training others on forklifts. Students will also receive a wallet card template to create their own wallet cards and certify students at their own facility.
Trainer certification is good for 5 years.
