Description
All persons who rig materials to be lifted overhead should be trained to safely perform rigging operations by a qualified person.
This 1-day class is for everyone that wants to Train their employees to perform rigging operations safely at their worksites. Individuals can become a trainer if they have previously attended a qualified rigger course or show proof of training.
Class includes full training curriculum and a flash drive for training others in rigging operations. Individuals will also be provided with a wallet card template to create their own wallet cards and certify workers at their own facility or jobsite.
Student trainers will learn the following in this class:
- Requirements as found in Fed OSHA 1910.184, 1926.1400 & 1926.251.
- Crane Safety Basics
- Types of Rigging Equipment
- Sling Safety
- Hitches
- Tagline Knots
- Load Angle Factor
- Center of Gravity
- Crane Signals (Hand & Voice)
- Power line Safety
- Practical Exercises
- Effective Teaching Methods

Trainer certification is good for 5 years.
